*April 22-24, 1994--Delta State Convention in Kansas City--attended by Patsy
Meadors, Faye Peters, and Laurie Whitlock. Laurie participated in the
recognition of outgoing and incoming chapter presidents.
*June 1994--Delta State Leadership Conference: attended by Faye Peters.
*September 10, 1994--Alpha Tau Chapter meeting at Victoria Steakhouse in Buffalo.
Initiation of new member Kay Snodgrass. Budget for year includes $100.00
each contribution to the Bolivar Community Concert and the Children's
Literature Festival.
*October 7, 1994---Southwest District Coordinating Council Meeting in Springfield:
attended by Eva Marie Glor, Becky Legan, Patsy Meadors, Faye Peters, and
Laurie Whitlock.
*November 12, 1994--Alpha Tau Chapter Meeting at SBU in Bolivar: Silent Auction
raised $360.00.
*December 3, 1994--Alpha Tau Chapter Christmas Tea at Myrna Walker's home in
Bolivar: contributions to World Fellowship was $51.00.
*February 11, 1995--Alpha Tau Chapter Meeting at Victorian Steakhouse in Buffalo.
Kathleen Vaughan spoke on dancing as a learning experience.
*April 8, 1995--Alpha Tau Chapter Meeting at CMH in Bolivar: members voted to
donate $350.00 a year for 3 years to a new Juvenile Detention Facility. Members
voted to accept Sandy Krueger as a new member to be initiated in September
and to make Mary McKown an Honored Reserved member which means she is
not required to pay dues or attend meetings. Dr. Dennis Cooper, Super-
intendent of Bolivar Schools, spoke.
*April 28-30, 1995--Delta State Convention in Jefferson City: attended by Becky
Legan, Faye Peters, and Laurie Whitlock. There was a fire alarm in the hotel at 7
a.m. Saturday morning, and Becky and Laurie participated in the "fire drill"
(actually a kitchen fire).
*May 6, 1995--20th Anniversary of Beta Lambda Chapter in Greenfield: attended
by Eva Marie Glor, Patsy Meadors, Jackie Vincent, and Laurie Whitlock. Jackie
was President of Alpha Tau Chapter when it sponsored the formation of Beta
Lambda Chapter in 1975.
*September 9, 1995--Alpha Tau Chapter meeting at Victorian Steakhouse in
Buffalo; initiation of member Sandy Krueger; budget for year includes $100.00
for the Bolivar Community Concert and $300.00 for the Juvenile Detention
Center (to be paid when the facility is built).
*October 18, 1995--Southwest District Coordinating Council Meeting in Springfield:
attended by Eva Marie Glor, Patsy Meadors, Faye Peters, and Laurie Whitlock.
*November 11, 1995--Alpha Tau Chapter meeting at SBU in Bolivar: Silent Auction
raised $322.50.
*December 2, 1995--Alpha Tau Chapter Christmas Tea at Lori Sechler's home in
Pleasant Hope: contributions to World Fellowship was $30.00.
*February 10, 1996--Alpha Tau Chapter meeting at Victorian Steakhouse in
Buffalo: officers were elected for the 1996-1998 biennium.
*April 13, 1996--Alpha Tau Chapter meeting at CMH in Bolivar: Dee Brooks, Delta
State President, and Betty Kinser, editor of the DELTAGRAMS, honored us with
their attendance. Remembrance ceremony was conducted for Edith Stewart.
Sandy Krueger was presented with a $300.00 Alpha Tau scholarship. Members
voted to accept Dixie Foster as a new member. A skit "The Wearing of the Key"
was performed.
*April 19-21, 1996--Delta State Convention in Springfield: attended by Eva Marie
Glor, Merle Grant, Becky Legan, Magda Neil, Patsy Meadors, Faye Peters, and
Laurie Whitlock. Laurie and Becky participated in the recognition of outgoing

Last year, Alpha Tau was awarded The Five Star Chapter Achievement Award, The Supporting Early-career Educators Award (SEE), the Order of the Rose Award for adding a member from an education environment not currently represented by the chapter, Honorable Mention for the Chapter Newsletter, and Honors for the Website.

The Missouri State Membership Committee nominated Teresa Parson, Missouri’s First Lady, for Missouri State Honorary Membership into Delta Kappa Gamma. You can now invite a Junior or Senior college student to join DKG! Their dues would only be $30!
*Karla Spear was chosen by our chapter for the Key Women Educator Recognition Award for 2019.
*Karen Gorden was chosen for 2020 Key Woman Educator.
*SW Coordinating Council was October 19, 2020, at Hilton Garden Inn in Springfield. Cost was $16. Attendees were asked to bring school supplies for a needy school.
World Fellowship Fund was $41 for 2019.

Cay Sergent had an article published in DKG Collegial Exchange about Educational Book Award Ghosts in the Schoolyard.
*Missouri State held its biennial convention on April 26-28, 2019, at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Springfield, Missouri. There were seven Alpha Tau members that were able to attend— Cay and Jessie Sergent, Karla Spear, Laurie Whitlock, Faye Peters, Magda Neill, and Myrna Walker. Jessie Sergent got to thank the audience at the Celebration Luncheon for being a recipient of a state scholarship—the Mayme C. Hamilton. Also, Jessie and Cay Sergent presented a workshop entitled “Going Great with Google” that was well-attended and very well done! Also, Cay Sergent received the State Individual Achievement Award! Alpha Tau was awarded the Five Star Chapter Achievement Award (which is the highest you can receive), the Order of the Rose for adding a member from an education environment not currently represented in our chapter, the SEE Award for outstanding contributions in Supporting Early Career Educators, given Highest Honors for our Website and given Highest Honors for our Newsletter!
- Donate to Kids in Ghana (Schools for Africa project) created to collect spare change at every meeting since nothing was really being done for this project on a regular basis.
- April, 2018 -- We enjoyed hearing Governor Mike Parson and First Lady, Teresa, who are Co-Chairs of Jobs for America’s Graduates (JAG). He actually had not been moved into the Governor’s position as of that meeting. They shared information about JAG having a success rate of helping students who need transition from at risk in school to success in jobs. Faye Peters was president last biennium.
- Sept. 8, 2018 meeting: Members Laurie Whitlock, Faye Peters, and Cay Sergent presented a program to celebrate Alpha Tau’s 50th birthday, “We’ve Come a Long Way, Sisters!”
- Nov. 18, 2018--*Silent Auction-- *Judy Wampler (Bev Jenkins' sister) presented-retired 4th grade Neosho teacher--combined quilting and history--especially Laura Ingalls Wilder
- Feb. 9, 2019--Annette Fugitt spoke on Living in Alaska!
- April 13, 2019--*Deanna Robertson from Exodus Ministries in Bolivar spoke on how they help women transition from prison to a productive life.
- Sept. 11, 2019--*Innovative Techniques in Education," such as Flexible Seating and the Four Day Work Week, put on by Halfway Schools that had been practicing these techniques for at least a year.
- Nov. 9, 2019--Silent Auction and "Getting to Know You" by the Music Committee; Project Hope was to bring Nurse Supplies for area schools
- Feb. 8, 2020--Missouri State President Jana Siefkas presented on the importance of not only getting but keeping members and how to do this

- Feb. 13, 2021--virtual meeting--it was voted to give $50 to World Fellowship from our treasury; Program was Betty Glasgow with BoMo Works from Bolivar High School--Apprenticeships and Internships--students are paid while learning; the only high school in the state with such a program; State Convention is virtual this year at no cost
- Apr. 10, 2021--Voted to continue offering Zoom at meetings , so 15 attended plus 4 zoomed, Program: "Where in the World?" by Karen Gorden and Myrna Walker--suggested places to go and methods to make traveling easier and more efficient

- Nov. 4, 2023--Basket Fundraiser for Scholarships at Sweet Kayle, Bolivar (due to construction at CMH)--5 baskets auctioned by $5 tickets--"Farm Fresh Food and Fixins" (valued at $200), "A Tree Full of Christmas" ($210), "A Brighton Christmas" ($287), "What's for Dinner?" ($175), and "Sit Back and Relax" ($125) all brought in $975 which were split 3 ways into our scholarships and grants --in business, 1st and 2nd VP offices were combined
- Feb. 10, 2024--Myrna Walker present "Work Smarter, Not Harder, By Thinking Outside the Box" --meeting held at Karen Gorden's town house
- Apr. 13, 2024--met in the redecorated Polk County Library's Gathering Room; installed new officers and heard from past State Presidents Cay Sergent and Jana Siefkas about the history of our Founding Sisters
